How to judge the cooling performance of the cooling fan?
November 03 , 2021Cooling fan can be selected from the main parameters such as bearing, airflow, pressure, size, motor and so on. What are the specific factors that will affect the performance of the cooling fan? How do we judge whether it is a high performance cooling fan?
1. Related to the bearing used by the cooling fan
The most commonly used bearings for cooling fans are sleeve bearings and ball bearings. Sleeve bearings are generally cheaper and have low initial rotation noise. The double ball bearing cooling fan is noisier than the sleeve bearing cooling fan, and the price is more expensive than the sleeve bearing, but it has the advantage of higher reliability and longer life than the sleeve bearing.
2. Whether the larger the cooling fan, the better its heat dissipation characteristics
Equipments that need to heat dissipation are generally considered to be the bigger the cooling fan, the better the heat dissipation performance? In fact, this is a wrong concept. The advantage of a large fan depends on the length of the blades of the fan and the large total area of heat dissipation, so the air flow is relatively large. However, if the design is improper, the heat dissipation capacity of a large cooling fan may not be as good as that of a small cooling fan. Finally, look at the cooling fan blades. If the other parts of the same fan remain unchanged, just change the blades from five blades to seven blades, and the change in airflow may not increase much.
However, as far as the fan speed is concerned, the speed of the seven blades will be lower than that of the five blades (under the same ventilation volume). On the contrary, if the cooling fan with seven blades is used, the bearing wear out and the oil leakage will be less, the life of the fan is longer.
If the speed of the fan with five blades and seven blades is the same, the airflow of the fan with seven blades will be greater. The higher the speed of the ventilation cooling fan, the shorter the corresponding life and the greater the noise.
In addition, the thicker the blades of the cooling fan, the greater the angle of the blades, and the greater the wind pressure. The entrance angle of the cooling fan blade (45° is the maximum) is also one of the important factors that determine the airflow of the cooling fan.
